Many insurers impose sub-limits—caps on claim amounts for treatments of specific conditions, including:

  • Cruciate Ligament Conditions: Injuries to the ligaments in the knee.
  • Tick Paralysis: A potentially fatal condition caused by tick bites.

  • Hip Dysplasia: A genetic condition affecting the hip joints.

All pet insurance policies come with exclusions, but Knose keeps it simple and transparent. Knose has a 1-day Exclusion Period for injuries, 14 days for illnesses, and 6 months for Specified Conditions, Behavioural Conditions, and Dental Illnesses (14 days for pets under 1 year). Any condition that arises during these periods is considered pre-existing and won’t be covered. You can expand coverage with Optional Benefits (for eligible policies), such as Dental Illness, Behavioural Conditions, and Specialised Therapies.
