Street Paws Festival: Building a community of dog lovers

Last updated on

The Balgowlah Village Shopping Centre courtyard was a sight to behold last 22 February 2025 for the much-loved Street Paws Festival. Sponsored by Knose, it was a day of fun and celebration that brought the vibrant dog community of pet parents and dog lovers alike.

Street Paws welcomed everyone, with a pup in tow or not. It was a happy reminder of the powerful bond between dogs and people.

A Dog event that’s for everyone

It was a beautiful day in Australia and it kicked off with the Agility demonstration led by the Manly and District Kennel and Dog Training Club Inc. The crowd was glued to the action as Toy Poodles to Border Collies blazed and zoomed through the obstacle course.

“The agility course was such a highlight,” said one of our Knose event team members. “You could see the trust between the trainers and the dogs. It was beautiful to watch.”

One of the crowd favourites was the friendly Cutest Pooch Competition. Dogs of all sizes and breeds all came to strut their stuff. It was filled with a healthy dose of rivalry, wagging tails, and big fluffy personalities.

Cavoodles, french poodles, and more walked with their A-game, all furry and fabulous. We’re sure they did a lot of dog training and it shows! Watch our recap of how we spent the weekend at Street Paws Festival:

While it was really a day of fun, admittedly there were a few (happy) tears too. The Best Rescue Dog category brought a mix of inspiration and emotion. Stories were shared about dogs in waiting eventually finding their forever homes.

Scotty, a spirited Jack Russell, took home the prize. He’s now in his third and final home after being adopted. His new owner beamed with pride.

The festival also doubled as an important platform for local pet businesses. From independent dog treat stalls to pet care experts, the crowd were invited to support small businesses that are helping dog lovers across the country care for their pets.

The Pet Specialists teamed up with NEVS (Northside Emergency Veterinary Service) to speak to attendees about their new facilities and the services they offer.

Knose shares the love, sponsors Street Paws

At Knose, we’re always happy to support causes that align with our values. This dog event gave us the chance to meet passionate dog lovers face-to-face. We were delighted that our bright pink gear was such a hit.

Thanks to the popular Spin to Win wheel, winners walked away with more Knose goodies. This includes our much-loved dog bandanas that quickly became the fashion statement of the day.

Our friendly team was also there to chat about Pet Insurance, with personalised quotes available for those curious about protecting their pets with flexible, transparent cover.

“What stood out to me,” said another Knose team member, “was how open people were to learning more about pet health. They weren’t just browsing! They were asking thoughtful questions and really wanted the best for their dogs.”

Every dog had its own personality on show. Some shy, some playful, but all deeply loved. By the end of the day, it was clear that this wasn’t just another Saturday.

Stay tuned for more pet community events – we’ll be there to adore your pets and offer pet insurance discounts!

What’s next for Knose?

Knose is always proud to support initiatives that build and strengthen the dog community in Australia. We believe events like this not only bring joy but also educate and empower dog lovers to do more for their companions.

We’re already looking forward to the next one and hope to see even more faces (both furry and human!) at the next celebration of all things pawsome.
