What happens when you combine dozens of Golden Retrievers, sunshine, and a whole lot of fun? You get Goldens on the Grass, a sun-soaked celebration of happy tails at Broadwater Parklands on the Gold Coast.
This annual event brings together Golden Retriever enthusiasts from across Queensland!
A Day of Golden Memories
Dozens of gorgeous Goldens ran freely across the grass under perfect Queensland sunshine, tails up at maximum speed. Their humans were having just as much fun, tucking into tasty bites and sipping cold beers from the food stalls dotted around the parklands.
There’s something for the kids too! The Foam Pit was a huge hit, with little ones guiding their fluffy mates through mountains of bubbles before inevitably rolling around in fits of laughter themselves.
On such a beautiful sunny day, staying cool and hydrated kept the pups ready for more fun.
The Color Fun Run had everyone covered in rainbow shades as volunteers sprayed colourful powder (no worries, it’s pet-safe!) at Golden Retrievers and their parents dashing through the course.
Contests, Costumes, and Canine Stars
The Best Dressed Golden contest brought out some truly spectacular outfits. Princess gowns, surfboard gear celebrating Gold Coast style, and plenty of other amazing costumes made for tough judging.
As prize sponsors, we at Knose were chuffed to award prizes to the winners, though honestly, every single Golden Retriever there was a winner in our books.
The day got even better with a special appearance from everyone’s beloved blue heeler. Photos with Bluey, cheering on Goldens at the agility course, and listening to live music added the perfect finishing touches to an amazing event.
Seeing furry sporty superstars in action definitely inspired some dog exercises we could try with our own dog crew back home.
Supporting Our Golden Community
A quick shoutout to the legends at the Golden Retriever Club of Queensland Inc (GRCQ) who made this whole event possible. They have been uniting Golden Retriever lovers since 1971. That’s over 50 years of pure Golden magic!
As the proud guardians of the breed in Queensland, the Club hosts everything from championship shows to community favourites like Goldens on the Grass.
Their mission is to celebrate these magnificent dogs, support and educate pet parents, and make sure every Golden receives the love they deserve.
Goldens on the Grass delivered everything we love about Gold Coast events and more. Days like these remind us why Golden Retrievers hold such a special place in our hearts.
