Three daschunds on an outdoor couch

Tiny Tails and Big Wins at the Sydney Dachshund Festival 2025

Last updated on

There’s nothing quite like a dog event where the stars of the show are long, low but full of personality. Sydney Dachshund Festival 2025 was just that and more.

Held at The Entertainment Quarter in Moore Park, this celebration drew an incredible crowd of dachshunds, their humans, and pet lovers excited to soak up the fun. Here’s an event recap of the most fun day with the Dachshund lovers community!

Sydney’s big day for little dogs

It was a good day and the venue buzzed with energy. Everywhere you looked, there were little legs in motion and wagging tails. Entrance was free, making it easy for families of all ages to come and join the event.

One that stood out was the free vet consult tent. Pet parents were welcome to bring their pets for a quick check-up and advice. It is such a relief to know experts were around in case the little furry ones get too excited.

Also, a nice little heads up to take your pets for an annual check-up! A simple yearly vet visit can help catch issues early and support your pet’s overall health.

Knose was lucky enough to be set up next to a dog treat tent that smelled way too delicious. It definitely helped keep four-legged visitors close by! Happy pups sampled the treats, many of them strutting past wearing the most adorable outfits.

Then came everyone’s favourite –the Dachshund Derby! It was hilarious and one of the cutest things we’ve seen. So many “sausages on legs” dashing towards the finish line, cheered on by roaring crowds. Daschunds are very determined little racers!

Watching these compact canines take off with such spirit was a sweet reminder of how much heart they carry in their tiny bodies. All that fun in the sun also makes it worth checking out how to care for your pets properly during warmer weather.

Last but certainly not the least was the Smallest Dachshund Competition. It was impossible to look away from the lineup of cute mini sausages, all competing for the title with tail wags and teeny-tiny yaps. And with that level of cuteness, we’re sure these pups were as tick and flea-free as they were adorable. Every pup felt like a winner!

Team work makes the dream work

We also connected with the Wiener Crew. They’re a team of wonderful people doing charity work by helping fund vet bills for dachshunds in need. We were more than happy to make a donation and even got a charming little 3D-printed dachshund figurine in return.

This year’s event was also extra special for Knose as we welcomed Zoe, the newest member of our team. She was a joy to have with us and went out of her way to make our Mandarin-speaking guests feel truly welcome and included. We’re so grateful to have her as we continue attending and supporting events that show our furry companions extra love.

Many pet parents were also curious to learn how our Dog & Puppy Insurance and Pet Care Plans can support their tiny runners. After all, we’ll never really know what mischief our pets might find next. It’s always good to be prepared!

See you at the Dachshund National

If you missed this one, save the date now for the Dachshund National on 7 September 2025. The lucky winners from this event’s competition already received an exclusive invitation, and we can only imagine how fun it will be. We hope to see you and your furry family there.

Until then, we’ll be holding onto the happy memories of this awesome day filled with healthy pets and happy humans. The day may be over, but the memories of those little legs, wagging tails, and big hearts will stay with us.

Thanks to everyone who stopped by to say hello or share a moment with us. We can’t wait to see you again at the next event!
